Mmmm... Daily creativity, saying no, the scarcest asset and Snowball Effect

Things to make you go Mmmm…

"To inspire and encourage creativity by sharing more wisdom every week than any electronic artist in the world.”

Three thoughts for your creativity and one on mine.

3 for you:

The power of daily creative habits cannot be underestimated.

"The days can be easy if the years are consistent. You can write a book or get in shape or code a piece of software in 30 minutes per day. But the key is you can't miss a bunch of days.” - James Clear

No is the new yes for 2024.

"People think focus means saying yes to the thing you've got to focus on. But that's not what it means at all. It means saying no to the hundred other good ideas that there are. You have to pick carefully. I'm actually as proud of the things we haven't done as the things we have done. Innovation is saying no to 1,000 things." - Steve Jobs

If time is the scarcest of assets, this could be the definition of wealthy.

“An empty calendar is a competitive advantage. The person who fills their calendar with average opportunities has no time for exceptional ones.” — Shane Parrish

1 from me

If you’ve been reading my newsletter for a while you’ll know that in 2021 I set myself a challenge to self-release 1 track a week for the whole year.

I had half a dozen tracks finished and ready to go at the end of 2020.

One of those was Snowball Effect which started life as the catchily-titled ‘Funk Var 1’ on July 11th 2019.

Tomorrow, on the 26th January 2024, three and a half years later, that track (and two of the following tracks) are finally getting a full release on the excellent Saturo Sounds label as the Snowball Effect EP.

Some things happen quickly and others take time but if you don’t stick with it you’ll never find out.

How it started.

How it’s going.

The Snowball Effect EP is available for pre-order at Beatport and pre-save at Spotify now.

Go on, give it a try. You might like it.

Until next week
